Stream Akamai logs to Lume
Push Akamai DataStream 2 request logs to Lume: config-only in Property Manager, no code.
Install
1Create a DataStream 2 stream
In Akamai Control Center, create a stream with Log format: JSON and destination Custom HTTPS endpoint at https://in.lumetraffic.com/logs/akamai, with an Authorization: Bearer custom header.
2Select the data-set fields
Enable the fields Lume needs, including the opt-in User-Agent and Referer header fields. Without User-Agent, Lume can’t identify agents and rejects the events.
3Activate & verify
Activate the stream and associate it with your property, and events appear within a couple of minutes (DataStream 2 batches).
Good to know
- DataStream 2 pushes raw request logs as JSON; setup is declarative in Property Manager (or Terraform).
- Akamai’s edge geo provides country only. It does not expose ASN. Optionally include cliIP to enable crawler verification (used transiently, never stored).
Works with the rest of your stack
Lume is CDN-agnostic and server-side. This is one of several install paths, all feeding the same dashboard. Mix and match across hosts, or move providers without losing your history.
Akamai FAQ
Why are my events being rejected?
The most common cause is a missing User-Agent field in the data set. Lume can’t identify agents without it, so enable the opt-in User-Agent header field.
Does Akamai give me ASN?
No, Akamai’s standard set carries no ASN, so Akamai events have country only. The other fields map cleanly onto Lume’s.
