What counts as an event?
An event is a single request Lume ingests: a page view or a tracked REST call. Human, bot, and AI-agent requests all count, because seeing the whole picture is the point. You are only billed for events you send, and Lume never stores a full client IP in the process.

What happens if I hit my plan limit?
On a paid plan, Lume keeps storing and showing everything: traffic past your included allowance bills as metered overage at your plan’s per-million rate, up to your spend cap (default 5× your monthly base, adjustable any time). Only the spend cap suppresses ingest, and you get email nudges well before it does. On the free plan, traffic past 250,000 events/mo is never blocked: it degrades to a statistically accurate 1-in-10 sample instead, so your dashboard stays truthful. Lume never deletes your data.
Is the free plan really free?
Yes. 250,000 events per month on one project, no card required. Upgrade only when your traffic outgrows it.
What is the Identification API?
Send a request’s headers and Lume returns the agent’s verified identity: operator, type, and whether it’s genuinely who it claims to be rather than a spoofable user-agent you’d otherwise have to trust. Available on Starter and up.
Can I add team members?
Team access is included on every paid plan.
How is billing handled?
Every paid plan bills a flat monthly (or annual) base plus metered overage past its included allowance. Choose annual billing for 2 months free; the base is prepaid, but overage still bills monthly, as a separate line item on the same invoice. Plan changes take effect immediately and pro-rate; there are no refunds, and cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
